Geocache Description:

Near the unique beehive burner

Beehive burners (also known as TeePee Burners) were used to burn waste wood and sawdust from the forestry industry. Since they produced a lot of air pollution these burners have been phased out.

This burner was decommissioned in the 1980's and was recently transformed into a unique heritage attraction. Using local wood, past and present forestry workers spent five years developing it into a tourist point of interest.
