The Haunted
Hollow
The legends of the
hollow are coming back to life for this fall day. Come join in the
adventure as we discover lost treasures left behind by the legends
of the hollow. Are you brave enough to confront Ichabod Crane, the
headless horseman, and many others? Be careful, you don't want to
get lost in these woods.... many an explorer has ventured in and
come out a changed person!!
We will be gathering at 9am at the State Park to give out event
cache coordinates and compete for the FTF rights. A total of 21 new
caches will be placed within the area for this event. All caches
will be small Lock & Lock type containers and will very in
difficulty. Following a day of caching we will gather for a potluck
meal to share in our days adventures!
There will also be 4 special event caches placed for micro-cachers
only. These are special kids caches and will be temporary event
only caches.
The first 100 geocaching groups in attendance
will receive a collectible event PathTag. Pathtags has also agreed
to provide a discount certificate to all groups in attendance at
this event!
The Event is being held at Sleepy Hollow State Park between
Lansing and St. Johns. The park entrance is located off Price road
and easily accessible from US-127. Coordinates for the park
entrance are included as waypoints to this event cache.
A vehicle permit is required to enter the park. A daily permit is
$6 and an annual permit is $24.
This State Park has very nice camping facilities for those wishing
to camp in the park for the weekend and campsites are
available.
9am Gathering At
9am we will be gathering at the event site to compete for FTF
rights!
Coffee, Donuts, and Cider will also be provided.
PotLuck Dinner
Information
Hot Dogs, Buns, and Condiments will be
provided.
We have decided not to assign groups of people specific dishes to
bring (ex. dessert). Instead we want you to bring your favorite
dish. Please post a note to the event letting everyone know what
you will be bringing so we won't have all of one dish.
Donations for door prizes will be gladly accepted if anyone is
interested in doing so. Please send us an email to let us know if
you are.
