Geocache Description:

This is a biking/hiking cache which covers about 1/3 of the southern section of the Sierra Vista Trail as well as some desert/mountain terrain. The biking portion is ~9 miles rt and follows the trail. The hiking portion is ~2.5 miles rt and is off-trail. The terrain on the trail isn't too rocky and the hardest part will probably be the ~100' of elevation gained heading up to Webb Gap. The hiking portion is off trail and is typical Franklin Mountain terrain--bring Band-Aids :) Total elevation gained while hiking will be around 600'.

The cache itself is a 3-stage multi-cache and takes place during the hiking portion. (You'll be able to park your bike ~200' from stage 1.) The biking starts at the Anthony Gap Trailhead which is reached by heading up NM 404 and turning north at the gate near the exposed gas pipes.

There are nice views of the northern Franklin Mountains along the trail and a nice southern view from the final location. I've included waypoints but the trail is easy to follow. There are a couple more forks but just watch for signs. You may want to bring a flashlight with you for some additional exploration. Enjoy!
