Migvie wood, or Kates wood as it is locally known (we have no idea why!) is a pleasant mixed woodland. From the parking there is a lovely crunchy walk up through an avenue of beech trees, with a lovely view opening up at the east end of the wood. The cache is placed in an area planted with pines and rowan trees, which at the time of placing were groaning with red fruits to sustain the birdlife this winter.
The paths through here have been upgraded in recent years and therefore it is a popular dogwalk.
