The Sound Of Music is a 1965 musical based on the Von Trapp Family. Julie Andrews playes Maria Von Trapp. The songs were written by "Rogers & Hammerstein" and include , The Sound Of Music, Edelweiss, My Favorite Things, Climb Every Mountain, Do-Re-Mi, Sixteen Going On Seventeen, Etc.......
The film was shot in Salzburg and Bavaria. It won 5 Academy Awards including " Best Picture"
In 1902 Agatha Witehead inherits the " Erlhof " estate.
In 1911 Georg Von Trapp marries Agatha,s daughter (also Agatha) . They kept the Erlhof house as a holiday residence untill 1935. And so the famous Von Trapp singing family came to live in Zell am See. Three of the children were born in Zell am See........ Werner, ( 1915)....... Hedwig, (1917) ..... Johanna, (1919)..... In 1922 Agatha Witehead Von Trapp dies.
In 1927 Georg Von Trapp marries Maria.
