Yep.

We Almost Lost It!

We almost lost a piece of history.

On July 8th 2009, the Bells Mills Covered Bridge caught fire by what is believed to have been a cigarette tossed from a vehicle crossing the bridge. But thanks to the heroic efforts of a local 15 yr. old Junior Firefighter, the 159 yr. old bridge was saved. He heard on the scanner that it was on fire and he threw on his gear and asked his mom to give him a ride to the bridge! His family lives only a few miles away and he had the blaze extinguished by the time the rest of the fire company arrived! So,thanks to his efforts, the only remaining covered bridge in Westmoreland County still stands!


THE CACHE IS NOT LOCATED ON THE BRIDGE, but it is nearby to bring cachers to see this great old bridge. It is a megnetized keyholder.

The road is a VERY BUSY road, so PLEASE be very careful while searching for this cache!
