He Never Moves Multi-Cache

This cache has been archived.

iceleftd: It's hard to believe it's been alive for over three years now, but all good things must come to an end. As promised a month ago, this one is history.

It was an interesting idea for me but one I did not think through well enough ahead of time. As a result, this one was a maintenance issue all along which contributed to my decision to archive it.

My thanks go out to all of you who looked for it - I hope you don't think of me as being too evil! I really enjoyed the many times where I met with cachers and watched them work through the stages.

Geocache Description:

He never moves - but he looks like he's going to any second now. He must be waiting for "The Right Light" to finish his task. You might want to follow his example.

Your starting point is a sculpture, entitled The Right Light by J. Seward Johnson Jr.

Johnson is best known in this area for his giant sculpture entitled The Awakening which was situated for many years at Haines Point in Washington, D.C., but is now at National Harbor in Prince George's County, Maryland.

If you have ever traveled on Route 7, you may have seen this sculpture but I'll bet you've never stopped to look at it up close. It really is very lifelike, with lots of little details. His use of trompe l'oeil paint on bronze is very effective although it seems to have weathered quite a bit since its installation.

If you are a waymarker, one of our local geocachers, buglady1, has created a waymark for this location already!

Congratulations to wetfit for the FTF!
