Geocache Description:

This cache is located in Page Meadows up on the rim of the Tahoe basin. It's named after our first black labrador who basically picked this neighborhood for us. It's located on one of the auxiliary trails off the first meadow. The hike down is fairly easy with not much elevation change. Uncovering the cache should not be very hard but it is out of sight.

This is my first cache placement. It is in a plastic box that's about half the size of shoebox. It's designed to withstand freezing so the hope is that it will hold up to the winter weather. It might be challenging to find this cache in the winter but the general location hopefully will not be too hard to determine. The hike to the cache from the Silvertip Trailhead is about 1 mile depending on which route one chooses.

Initially, the cache contains/ed: a log book, two pens, a tennis ball (for those who geocache with their dog(s), 3 bicycle tire boots, 1 mini tire-patch kit (for the mountain bikers), a little metal puzzle piece, a small "Matchbox" style car, a Tahoe Rim Trail sticker, a "Keep Tahoe Blue" sticker, a small glass token and a black chess pawn.

Our black labrador, Cooder, loved these trails and it only seemed fitting that my first cache up here be named after him.
