Is the cache the goal or the beauty of the Blue Grotto?
A 2 ½ hour hike through indigenous forests with pools for swimming. From the Drakensberg Sun, remember to sign out, pick up the blue trail on the left hand side of the dam. A lovely walk, which kids can do as well. You will also get to visit the grave of Dick Barry, a pioneering climber, who died on Monks Cowl in 1938. From here, the lip of the Cowl is just visible and an extra 10 minutes must be allowed for this. After relaxing follow the red trail out of the gorge, which can be picked up in the cave.
