This cache is a quick find on the way out of Salmon Arm towards Vernon. Please be careful around some of the machinery, there is nothing of significant danger, if you have the time Herb may be around to give you a guided tour of his budding museum.
Herb Higginbottom has created a vision into the past, displaying, both tools, engines and equipment. The collection of artifacts from Canadian society’s history is extensive, Herb provides guided tours, showing his hand made wood splitter, starting up a reliable ‘ol engine from back in the day and showing off his massive unique lawn mower.
The tool museum provides a hands on experience bringing one back in time, from chainsaws, farm equipment, automobile tools, all the way to kitchen utensils to hand pumped vacuum cleaners, Herb’s enthusiasm and ambition creates the museum. A handy man, he has created a man-sized push lawn mower and his own wood splitter, the tool museum is an opportunity to see the tools used to create Canadian society.
Herb hopes his man sized mower will be visible when Google Earth takes the next satellite picture. An eccentric man Herb researches the various machines, tools and household supplies he has collected over the years.
