Geocache Description:

DO NOT ACCESS THIS CACHE FROM I-95 FOR YOUR OWN SAFETY.

Seeing as I could not adopt this cache I decided to replace it in a close by but different location.

Dr. Stone’s Mill

Located at the end of Doc Stone Rd., in Smith Lake Park. For a beautiful route to the cache, walk along water's edge (far right), but watch out for the thorns...you may bump into a few.
One of Stafford's Revolutionary War heroes was a man by the name of Dr. Hawkins Stone. A relative of one of the signers of the Declaration of Independence, he was a well known citizen of old Stafford. He owned the land where Home Depot now sits, as well as a mill formerly located where we've hidden the cache. In the early 1800's, you would have passed the Garrison's 2nd store and the Shackleford family farm to get to get to it, as well as an old copper mine.
