Geocache Description:

This is the 1st of a series of historical places in the town of West Sparta where the theme for the towns community days is "Where History Grows". So we thought we would coincide a couple caches to bring all the history cachers to our town. The cache is located in an old cemetery which dates back to 1830 in the Byersville area. This cemetery has just been restored through "WEST SPARTA CEMETERY RESTORTATION PROJECT" = See face book page for information and photos of ground penetrating radar used to locate misplaced graves stones. Link: https://www.facebook.com/westspartacemetery Please respect this honored place in history and do not touch or destroy any of the stones. Please observe all the geocaching rules of cemetery caches and don't cache after dark. This container is the size of a approx. size of a film container but with a screw off top. Please make sure it is screwed back on tightly to keep out moisture.
