This is our first puzzle cache. The place where we hid our cache used to be a great place to go and get your groceries and it was a huge landmark for Oshawa.
Here’s a little bit of history about it. Knob Hill Farms used to be the old Ontario Malleable Iron Company Limited's factory in Oshawa, Ontario. At the time of opening it was known as the world's largest food store. The store was 226,000 square foot (21,000 square-metre). The Canadian Pacific and Canadian National Railway lines ran right to the store, for shipping of supplies, I think. A pharmacy, bakery, dentist's office, video rental store, and a card shop were also located within the terminal.
Knob Hill Farms has been closed down for a long time now and we used to love going there. We recently drove by here and it is amazing how much Mother Nature has taken this area back. There currently isn’t anything occupying the building and it is locked up and is Private Property but the cache is located off of private property.
So to figure out this puzzle you will have to determine 2 things and do some math to come up with the actual cache location.
1) What year did the Oshawa Knob Hill Farms open? =AAAA
2) What year did Stavro announce that all Knob Hill Farms would close? =BBBB
Now, for some simple math.
1) AAAA - (341x5) = CCC
2) BBBB / 10 = DDD
Now just insert the numbers into these coordinates:
