Questa cache è la seconda di
una serie che vuole portarvi a visitare questa splendida
villa. Se avete una
bicicletta vi divertirete ancora di più, altrimenti anche a piedi è
una piacevole passeggiata nel verde e fra monumenti storici. Nel
parco sono presenti molte fontanelle di acqua fresca e punti ove
fare ginnastica.
Villa Doria Pamphilj è un parco della città
di Roma, che come molti altri parchi cittadini trae origine dalla
tenuta di campagna di una famiglia nobile romana. È, inoltre, sede
di rappresentanza del Governo italiano.
Nel 1849 la villa fu teatro di
una delle più cruente battaglie per la difesa della "Repubblica
Romana": le truppe francesi di Napoleone III il 2 giugno occuparono
villa Corsini, allora alla periferia ovest di Roma e le truppe
garibaldine tentarono invano di scacciarle. Vedi anche cache:

Nel 1856 la villa fu unita alla
confinante villa Corsini e tutto il complesso venne trasformato in
una grande azienda agricola. Il nucleo originario della villa fu
acquistato dalla Stato Italiano nel 1957. Oltre 168 ettari furono
acquisiti dalla municipalità romana; la parte occidentale nel 1965,
la restante nel 1971 con apertura al pubblico nel
1972.
La cache è un contenitore
cilindrico metallico, grande come un rullino. Per trovarla dovete
attraversare, o quasi, il corso d’acqua. Fate molta
attenzione, il posto può essere pieno di muggles (e di zanzare,
naturalmente)!!!

This is the second cache of a series inside this splendid
villa. If you have a bicycle you will enjoy yourselves more,
otherwise on foot it is a pleasant walk in the green and among
historical monuments. In the park there are many fresh water
fontanellas and places
to train yourself.
Villa Doria Pamphilj is the largest
of the Roman parks (180 hectares), and like many other city parks
it draws origin from the campaign estate of a Roman noble family.
It is, moreover, one of the headquarters
of the Italian
Government.
In 1849 the villa was the scene of one of the most
bloody battles for the defense of the Roman Republic: the French
troops of Napoleon III, on June 2nd occupied the main building,
which stood where there is now The Arco dei quattro venti, inside
the main gate of the villa at the top of the hill.
Garibaldi, who lead the defence,
tried to get it again. During the fighting that followed the
house was lost and regained several times by both parties until it
eventually fell into the hands of the French. For this story please

In
1856 the villa was merged to the adjacent Villa Corsini estate and
all the complex was transformed in a great agricultural company.
The original nucleus of the villa was acquired by the Italian State
in 1957. More then 168 hectares were then acquired by the Roman
municipality; the western part in 1965, remaining in 1971 and
opened to the public in 1972.
Cache is a small metallic cylinder.
To find it you should “almost” cross the watercourse
that comes from the waterfall and pours into the lake. Please take
a lot of attention in managing the cache, the place can be full of
muggles (and mosquitos, too).
