Geocache Description:

This cache is hidden near the Hamam (Turkish bath) in the town of Kavarna, Bulgaria.

In English:

The Turkish bath is the Middle Eastern variant of a steam bath, which can be categorised as a wet relative of the sauna. The Turkish baths have played an important role in cultures of the Middle-East, serving as places of social gathering, ritual cleansing, and as architectural structures, institutions, and (later) elements with special customs attached to them.

The Hamam in Kavarna was built in the beginning of the XV century as a massive rectangular building of stone, to which belonged specially built hypocaust heating and hot water supply. There is a large and beautiful stone fountain near the building. Nowadays, the Hamam serves as a historical museum hosting an exhibition entitled “Dobrudzha and the sea”. You can also visit the nearby Museum of History and Archaeology.
