From Rt 16, take Pine Hill Road, then Conner Pond Road, then
Marble Road (right at fork) to where snow-mobile corridor from
Gillman Valley to Mt. Shaw crosses. Park.
Go past orange gate on right and follow for about 3/4 mile. Pile
of stones on left side, at top of a rise, marks Bayle Mountain
trail. Follow trail (bright red blazes) for a little over 1/2
mile.
Terrific views of Ossipee ring dyke including Mt. Shaw, Conner
pond, Nickerson mountains, Whittier, Grant's Peak and Gillman
Valley. Blueberries if in season.
Cache is not near summit register. Trail is somewhat
steep and rocky in parts, slippery when wet. Watch sharp drop-offs
from ledges on sides. Probably not really winter accessible.
Please respect property of Chococura Forestlands and private
land owners.
