Buddy Butts Park was formerly Waterways Experiment Station. The army used German prisoner labor to construct a scale model of the Mississippi River Basin here during WWII. The wooded area behind the park used to be part of Mississippi College, now just old roads, trails, etc.. People come out here occasionally to walk dogs, etc... plenty of nearby parking. Last few feet may require light bushwacking. Park gates are locked every night at dark!
