The cache location is a 700ft climb from the del Oro parking lot. It provides a wonderful overlook of the Longwall Canyon Trail and looking beyond, across the Coyote Valley to Steers Ridge in Henry Coe Park. The container is a sandwich lock-lock.
Adjacent to Calero County Park, the Rancho Canada del Oro Open Space Preserve is located on Casa Loma Road, off of McKean Road. The cache is located near the top of Longwall Canyon Trail. Equestrians and hikers can access the cache more directly by using Calero Park’s Serpentine Loop trail, to Longwall Canyon Trail. Bikers need to use the Mayfair Ranch Trail, to avoid Calero’s no bike rule. The Mayfair Trail does have a number of other caches and is a beautiful and well-maintained trail.
