Cache can be found right on the Bruce Trail.
This is the third in the Klondike series. This portion empties into
a channel between Lake Gibson and Lake Moodie. This is Thorold's
"Klondike". This is a remnant of an artificial channel dug in 1897
from the Third Canal at Allanburg to provide water power for the
first phase of the DeCew Power Station. The electricity generated
was sent to Hamilton. A friend of mine who has researched the name
Klondike hasn't found any concrete evidence of why it is called the
Klondike. The best guess is that any venture that was risky was
referred to as a "Klondike". The Klondike wasn't used after the
flooding of Lake Gibson in 1904. The others in the Klondike series:
