Geocache Description:

This is a traditional cache placed on Calves Island in the Connecticut RIver just north of the I-95 bridge in Old Lyme. You will need a kayak or other water craft to reach. The closest access point is the Pilgrims landing launch, see listed waypoint. There is parking for two or three cars. Thanks to my son and Mrs. Devillo for paddling over and placing the cache. I have not actually ever been on the island but it was recently in the news after some locals staged a mock military landing with a restored WW2 landing craft and guns blazing. Needless to say this drew the attention of the police who made a few arrests. There is a sandy beach approach from the northwest.
