Geocache Description:

Captain Peg Leg Davey and his first mate Red Roxy, have enjoyed a prosperous run of geo-piracy. For several years they have pillaged and plundered treasure caches throughout the geo-sea. They've discovered many a secret hide and even placed some of their own treasure caches. Alas, they have become rather complacent of late and have not attempted any truly ambitious acts of piracy. So, after many peaceful days spent ignoring the mischievous rumblings in their pirates' bones, Davey and Roxy could hold out no longer and have set their sights on the Spanish Treasure Fleet.

The Treasure Fleet is a convoy of ships that carry tools, and Spanish immigrants to the colonies, and bring gold, silver and other exotic goods back to Spain. These treasure laden ships run heavily armed and are always on the lookout for pirates and other enemies of Spain, but a crafty geopirate can certainly outsmart them!

After doing their homework and carefully planning their attack, the Two Geopirates crossed paths with the famed Treasure Fleet on an otherwise peaceful summer afternoon. Steer your geovessels towards the posted coordinates and ye shall find yourselves in the very waters where the battle for Spanish Treasure took place. Through matchless ingenuity, Peg Leg Davey and Red Roxy managed to destroy no fewer than three galleons, and so great was the resulting haul, that the Two Geopirates couldn't load all the swag aboard their own ship! In order that other geo-pirates should prosper as a result of Davey and Roxy's good fortune, they have hidden caches at the very sites where each Spanish ship was sunk. As ye search the wrecks for gold just remember, many a brave sailor lost their lives at this spot so respect their restless souls and only commence your hunt during daylight hours.

The second Spanish galleon to encounter the crafty Geopirates was the Encarnacion. After watching her sister ship come under attack by Captain Davey and his crew, the Encarnacionturned back to lend aid. However, this found the Spanish ship sailing into the wind, leaving her vulnerable to a small maneuverable pirate ship. Not long after engaging the Two Geopirates, Encarnacion was fatally holed. She went to the bottom of the sea and carried most of her load of silk and spices with her. Nevertheless, Peg Leg Davey and Red Roxy did find some gold and gems among her stores. So, while the treasure chest they left behind may not be large ye may still be rewarded. Do be sure one of the shore party carries a writing implement to the hide or ye won't be able to show the world that ye played your part in the looting of the Treasure Fleet. If ye be lucky enough to find this cache first, ye shall be rewarded with your very own pirate ship – perfectly outfitted for treasure hunting. Now, weigh anchor and enjoy the hide!
