Finley's Fighters Multi-Cache

This cache has been archived.

Blacklegend: Had enough of my Finley caches being muggled. Archiving all that are down. Obviously someone in town has a vendetta or what not. So, no caching in Finley.

Geocache Description:

Welcome to my 12th cache hide, and my 2nd in Finley. Finley's Fighters is dedicated to the men and women who served in the Australian Armed Services from Finley.

The final hide is in an easy location with fairly flat terrain, and would be very suitable for the kids with some parental supervision. They can have a play later (you will see why). They might enjoy the time spent getting the clues as well, and come to know a little about the sacrifices made by Australians in the time of war.

The start location is at the Finley Memorial Park where there are three monuments / obleisks erected in dedication to those who have served and fallen in the service of the Australian Armed Services.

There are three monuments in the park. The first is the smallest dedicated to the Australian Light Horse regiments. You will need the year this was erected/opened/dedicated. Year erected = ABCD

The second is a little larger and is the Korean War Monument. On the plaque on this You will need the year this was erected/opened/dedicated. Year erected = EFGH

The third is the largest and was erected after WW1. From this monument you will need the year of dedication. Year = IJKL

Using these clues solve the coordinates below.

S 35° 38' (L+1)(B+7)(G-9)
E145° 35' (J-2)(K+L-3)(A+5)

At the final location you will find a small Sistema container in a traditional geocaching location.

Enjoy WP1. It is a place of reverence and give some time to reflect on the bravery of men and women who defended Australia in various conflicts to give us the way of life we enjoy today.

Have fun.

15 Aug 2011 - Had to move the final location due to the tree stump the cache was hidden in has been removed.... Just my luck. So, i moved the final a bit further away, and away from the kids playground, to be a bit more Muggle free. Final hide is now on or under the disused railway tracks. When i say under, it is just under the metal of the track.

05/05/2012 - Had to replace and move GZ again due to more muggling. This town is incredible for caches being muggled. Anyway, GZ is now a little bit out of town, along a canal. Hide is in a willow tree. Standard sort of hide. Remember to adjust the minutes on the easting.

Coordinates and puzzle above updated.
