This cache is unique in its waypoints so please pay attention to all the text on this page.
This is cache # 20, planted by the Shulems on their 29 day, 450 Km, trek starting in Tel Dan and ending at the Kotel. Each day, we hid 1 cache for the benefit of future Israel Trail hikers. Naturally, some of the caches are accessible by none 'Israel Trailers' while others are 4 hours of waking from the nearest road.
This is a cache you will be able to get very close too very easily but will have to make an extra effort to actually reach. It is located at the entrance to a 50 meter long tunnel running under the length of highway 6. Because there is no stopping on the highway, you will get to within 10 meters of the cache each time you drive by but reaching it involves accessing a totally different strategy!
Option 1: Driving from South to north, get of the highway at Givat Koah junction and take road 465 towards Beit Arieh. 1000 meters later there will be a small road going South. It is a very bad road so drive slowly. Another 1200 meters on the road will bring you within about 100 meters of the cache.
Option 2: Take road 444 past the entrance to Shoham. 2 Km later you will see a path to the right Walking or driving this path another 1 Km will bring you very close to the cache from the other side of Highway 6.
Option 3: Hiking on Israel Trail from The entrance to Elad to Mizpe Modien will take only 8 hours and cover 19 KM and will also get you to the same tunnel.
Now that you are at the tunnel; the cache is located on the East entrance. It is on the East side of the path.

Enjoy the natural air conditioning at the entrance of the tunnel.
Lie down in the middle of the tunnel and look up the
ventilation shaft.
Make sure you cover the cache properly when you are done.
