The Belgian War Memorial is one of the most conspicuous monuments in all of Winnipeg. Located at the centre of a very busy street, the memorial can easily be seen from a great distance in both directions on Provencher Boulevard. It is familiar not only to the Belgian community and residents of St. Boniface, but also to citizens throughout the city.
This monument occupies its original site placed here in 1938. The only alterations have been the addition of plaques to commemorate later wars. This war memorial also represents the last surviving Hubert A. Garnier war monument in Winnipeg.
You will be looking for a well hidden lock and lock container. Please use stealth as there are hundreds of vehicles passing by at any given time. Cache contains logbook, writing stick, and a first to find pin for the eager beaver cachers. Please be CAREFUL retrieving and placing the cache back from where it came. Place it back EXACTLY as you found it.
