Geocache Description:

This cache is located across the road from the remains of Delphos' famous oak tree. The tree fell in 1984, but used to have a circumference of 15 feet and provide shade in a 200 foot diameter area. It was believed to be over 200 years old and when folks saw it, they knew they were close to Delphos and close to Pierce's Ford, the only place in the area to cross the Solomon river as they traveled to the grist mill at Solomon, Kansas.

This cache is accessible from the county right of way and you will not have to trespass to find it. There is parking at a pullout northwest of the cache and it is a short walk to ground zero. You will be looking for a one inch by three inch tube. Respect the area, CITO if needed, practice stealth if needed, and please rehide as you find it. Thank you and good luck.
