Geocache Description:

Accuracy at the time of placement: 4.8m, avg of 350 readings. Roads leading to cache will be difficult to drive on when wet, and the area is quite isolated. Be cautious or come back another day if road conditions don't agree with your vehicle! Waypoint provided for where to turn off of hwy 764, an unpaved highway. Proceed 2 miles north, turn left and follow the road to the cache (1 mile west, 1 mile north, 1 mile west). You should be able to park on a trail just off of the gravel road.

This cache is hidden near the location of the former White Wings School District # 3389. I could see no evidence of where the school had been located.

The school opened in 1915, and Bill Barry states that the name has been suggested to have come from two men: Mr. White (an area pioneer) and Mr. Wing (man who built the school). He goes on to state that neither man shows up in the homestead files for the area, so the truth of this is in question.

The school closed down in 1947, and in 1950 the building was moved to Limestone Hill District, in the Allan and Young area. In turn this school closed down in 1960.
