The cache is located near an environmental camp for kids.
Camp Cooper and I go back a long way. When I was a teacher of 4th through 6th grades from 1980 to 1984 I took my students yearly for an overnighter at Camp Cooper. We learned all about the desert flora and fauna, but most importantly, we learned what it was like to leave the big city and sleep in the desert with the coyotes howling and the sky ablaze with Orion, Ursa Major, and the Milky Way. I'll never forget the screams of delight as camp hosts told ghost stories late into the night or the look of satisfaction as students cooked and ate their own 'tin foil packet' meals over a campfire.
As of May of 2008 the Tucson Unified School District made Camp Cooper the responsibility of the University of Arizona Department of Teaching and Teacher Education who conducts day-to-day management. The camp is still open to overnighters, as well as new 3 day adventures, and many environmental programs.
The cache is located just outside the camp boundaries. Use stealth.
Another FTF for tugies!
