Geocache Description:

Cache holds log and small trade items. Bring your own pen. Please replace cache as found. No night caching, please. Cache is wheelchair accessible if we haven't had much rain, otherwise, the ground may be too soft.

I was thinking about vacations and traveling the byways of the US the other day and started thinking about a series of caches stretching across the country on US 50. I thought I'd call it DC to CA or Bust. Wafflesdad thought it might be fun and suggested calling the ones on the eastbound side of the road CA to DC. Cool! That would be an extra clue when driving as to which side of the road it will be on!

So anyway, this is one of the first eastbound caches. I hope other cachers take the idea and someday I can cache my way across Rt 50, taking my time and seeing the sights on the 3,073 mile highway between Ocean City MD and Sacramento CA.

This cemetery is special, as it holds my grandparents Inez and Kenneth Bower, my cousin David Wisecup, close friend Maxine Meadows, and several other acquaintences. Oh yeah, and Lt Governor Myrl Shoemaker.

Myrl Shoemaker (April 14, 1913 - July 1985) was elected lieutenant governor in 1982 under governor Richard Celeste. He died of cancer while serving Ohio. The convocation center at the University of Cincinnati is named after him.
