Jericho Mountain State also known as Jericho Lake State Park is one of the newest State Parks in NH.
The State Park was created in 2005 with the acqusition of a 230 acre Berlin city park centered on Jericho Lake and a 7200 acre abutting private property to the south. The lake has a beach, bath house, picnic sites and a shelter. The private parcel of land is being developed as the first State owned network of ATV trails and will be the largest in the region. Eventually there will be 150 to 200 miles of interconnected trails. There is also snowmobiling, mountain biking, snowsoeing, cross country skiing and hunting opportunities. A campground is also planned.
This cache was placed in order to have a cache in this State Park to satisfy the requirements of the NH State Park Challenge, GC1WB0C. The only other cache ever placed in this Park, Drifted, GC1G8E9, had to be archived..
There is lots of parking just beyond the cache site at the trails parking area. After you find the cache continue down the road a short distance for the lake and beach.
