There was the big pond that had been called "Akiyama's goldfish pond" here.
Yoshigoro Akiyama is known as a person who contributed to goldfish's improvement of breed. Several hundred thousand goldfishes were shipped from this pond of about 40,000 square meters every year.
However, it reclaims from the pond in 1983.

このあたりには、「秋山の金魚池」と呼ばれていた金魚の養殖場がありました。
秋山吉五郎は、金魚の新種開発に大変貢献した人物として知られています。
約４万平方メートルの秋山の金魚池からは、毎年、数十万匹もの金魚が全国へと出荷され、「関東一の金魚の養殖場」といわれていました。
しかし昭和５６年（１９８３）に、この池も埋め立てられ、当時の面影はどこにも見当たりません
