Zoo-2 Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Reviewer Revan: Cache Owner (CO) has not responded, so I am regretfully archiving this cache to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking new cache placements. If you wish to repair/replace this cache sometime in the future (not to exceed 10 days from the date of this entry), just contact me (by e-mail), and assuming it still meets the current Guidelines, I will consider unarchiving this cache.

Please be advised this is not a guarantee that this geocache will be unarchived. Many factors will go into my decision. The most important of which is how you responded to geocachers who tried to communicate with you regarding the problem(s) with this geocache hide and how you communicated with me, the Reviewer Revan.

Geocache Description:

Camo'ed micro with log only. Bring pen. Watch for potential muggles.

Zoo-1, -2, -3, -4 are all accessible 24/7 outside the Zoo. They are not accessible from within Zoo visitor areas.

Parking is in the big lots at the northern end of the Zoo. "Zoo Circle Drive" on maps is totally bogus. That road is within the Zoo's fence and is strictly for employees and vendors. Take Hermann Park Drive to get to the visitor parking areas.

From a loose collection of assorted small and medium sized animals--rabbits, raccoons, Mexican eagles, black bear, great horned owl, capuchin monkeys, prairie dogs--in 1905 in Sam Houston Park close to downtown Houston, to a world-class Zoo located in an area of Hermann Park with an employee staff of over 300 people and over 600 volunteers supporting over 6,000 animals, the Zoo continues to expand within its 55-acre area.

The new African Forest (Phase I) opened in December 2010 and feature chimpanzees, southern white rhinoceros, greater kudu, masai giraffe and ostrich. Phase II construction will start soon. It will include, among other animals, GORILLAS!
