Geocache Description:

A small plastic cache placed along a popular footpath in Long Riston

There has been a horse training course at Long Riston since the 19th Century. This one runs for about 1.5 miles from Rise to Riston down Farnton Hill.

This cache is the starting point for the TB Nurse Charlotte hence the 'horspital' in the name, linking in with the horsey theme....tenuously!

The path is popular with dog walkers and you get nice views with BIG skies. Do NOT allow your dog to venture into the wood nearby as I understand that there are some traps in there.

Also, do not walk on the training path itself - the surface gets everywhere (you'll know what I mean when you see it).

The path is best approached from the west, parking in Long Riston and taking the public footpath next to the main bus stop opposite the post box. There is nowhere to park if you approach from the east. The person who lives in the farmhouse there does not like people parking on or near his drive - so be warned.
