Geocache Description:

It’s time for the
9-9-9 Event ! ! !

Introduction:
I know, I know, this is posted as the 9-9-9 Event but it takes place on 9-13-9, This years event is going to play out a little different than years past. With 9-9-9 falling on a Wednesday during the work week we have decided to make this event a multiple day challenge event starting Wed 9-9-9 and concluding on Sunday 9-13-9.

The event:
Twenty seven new geocache challenges will be posted across three days. Nine on 9-9-9, nine on 9-10-9, and nine on 9-11-9. Each group of nine caches will have a common theme to be announced. The goal of this event is to find and log as many caches before 9-13-9 with at least one member from each team finding, signing and logging the cache before the final event. The benefit to finding all the caches ahead of time will be revealed in time.

Teams:
All teams should have at least two members, one for driving and one for navigating, and no more than can fit in one vehicle. This will be a kid friendly event and who knows they might come in handy. How ever, some of the terrains traveled may be traitorous and small children may slow you down. My 8 and 10 year old stayed behind most of the time.

Schedule:
On 9-13-9 at 2:00pm to 2:30pm we will all gather at the above coordinates to sign in teams. From 2:30pm to 2:45pm rules will be reviewed and any questions will be answered at that time. At 2:45pm the 9-9-9 finale will begin. Once all teams have crossed the finish line we will gather for a BBQ and award ceremony . Please bring your own food as I am poor and can’t feed the every one. I will bring a grill to cook burgers and dogs for those who need it.

Rules:
1) This event is designed to be fun and challenging but you must act like responsible adults at the appropriate times and places. Remember you and your team represent the Geocaching community. Please bring lots of energy, the spirit of adventure and of course a good dose of competition.
2) All city, county, state, and federal laws, traffic laws, park rules and regulation will be followed at all times. If you are caught breaking any of these, you will be disqualified.
3) At no time shall you, your team or you actions hinder the progress of any other team. This will rob them of fun and disqualify you. Please play fair.
4) If you are not able to put together a team and would like to play anyway, show up and we will hook you up with another team. (you could complete the tasks on your own but it will be difficult).
5) By attending this event, you will not hold Geocaching.com, or the event planners (petty_cache) liable for any damage, accidents or injuries incurred during the event. Use your own common sense, we just want every one to have fun and be safe.
6) All teams should post a “Will Attend” note to the cache page by 9-6-9 with a team name and the # in your team. This is so we will know roughly the size of crowd to expect. If you don’t post ahead of time go ahead and show up, we would love to have as many people attend as possible.
7) Cost to play. We are asking that each player attending bring one or more items they would like to find in a cache to pay for registration. These items will then be given away as prizes to the winners at the award ceremony.
8) All members of each team are encouraged to participate through out the event including finding caches on 9-9-9, 9-10-9 and 9-11-9. The more caches found by each team the better the chances of winning.
9)

Equipment:
One vehicle with room for all your team.
Of course a working GPS.
