Geocache Description:

This Quarry is the huge face you see as you drive up Belair Road, directly below Windy Point. In recent years there has been some great work done by Mitcham Council to set up mountain bikes trails in this area. This cache will take you to a Free ride park with some gnarly trails. Please get out of the way of bikes if you hear them coming as this is their playground to ride hard without walkers.

This cache is placed at the base of the western end of the quarry, you will need to find the track into the base, and then do a small scramble up a scree slope.

It is well worth exploring this area around to the east as well, there are some great 360° views from a few places. Best visited in the late afternoon when the sun is low in the western sky, really bringing out the yellows and oranges of the cliff face above.

CAUTION!!!

This geocache series is placed in and around disused old quarries.

Please do not attempt this series at night unless you know the area very well.

It was not my intention to test your climbing skills, all caches can be reached by walking and/or a small scramble.

Unfortunately the base of many of these quarries is scattered with old rubbish dumped from above, please be aware and careful.

Satellite lock and GPS accuracy in some of these quarries may be poor.
