The name Twin Rivers comes from the two rivers that flow into Lake Eppalock the Campaspe and Coliban Rivers.
Lake Eppalock which was constructed between 1960 and 1964 to provide irrigation from the Campaspe River, and to supply water to Bendigo central Victoria.
Geologically and topographically, it is an excellent dam site. The curved embankment, 700 metres long, stands 45 metres high and contains more than 800,000 cubic metres of earth and rock. Three spillways cater for the overflow: a concreted main spillway which runs down to the Campaspe River, and two higher grassed spillways for exceptionally large floods which we had in late 2010 when got to 117% full.
BYO pen as it goes walkabout sometimes.
Stealth required at all times
In warmer months please look out for snakes
Have a nice fun day.
