Geocache Description:

Park at the sandpit on Wright St. and follow the North Country Trail till you get close, then bushwack thru some thick poplar and then up a steep rock cliff. The NCT is easy walking, but the bushwacking is pretty tough the way we went in. In the fall this will be a great spot. The difficulty could vary depending on what part of the NCT you come in on.

Presque Isle Park used to have a deer enclosure. The deer inside the enclosure had the albino gene and I can remember seeing albino deer in the enclosure in the 1980's when I visited Marquette. Back in the 1990's after the deer enclosure was removed at Presque Isle Park, there were two albino bucks born to a regular colored doe, in the wild. The doe was probably from Presque Isle Park and had the albinism gene. The bucks used to travel from the sandpit to Tourist Park. We would see them every year. One buck, the one with an odd number of points, used to be a little wild. You could only get about forty yards from him. The other buck, the one with an even number of points, was really tame. You could get to within 10 feet of him and almost feed him by hand. I used to bowhunt near this cache. One morning I watched the tame one from my bowstand. He rubbed the velvet from his horns then came into my bait pile where I shot a few pictures of him. We watched these bucks for about four years. Sadly both bucks were poached. Today we have another albino buck who lives in the fit strip area. There are also 2 albino does living in the swamp in Trowbridge. The container is a quart size Tupperware container. Starting contents are FTF gold Goerge Washington $1, log, pencil, sharpener, and animal figures, including dogs, cats, elk, frogs, lizards, turtles, fish, tigers, and giraffes, and a travel bug. Please leave the hint attached to the container. Rehide in the same spot and do not put spoilers in your log. CONGRATULATIONS to elsor3214 on first to find!!
