섬진 청류, 지리 십경의 하나로 전북 진안을 발원지로 하여 임실, 곡성 구례를 지나온 섬진강은 지리산 피아골, 화개동천의 풍부한 수량을 받아서 하류로 흘러갈 수록 더욱 더 맑아집니다. 섬진강은 맑은 물과 더불어 아름다운 모래가 많기로 유명한 강입니다. 강변 좌우로 햇살에 반짝이는 모래빛은 김소월의 시를 저절로 생각나게 합니다.
