Carrying Place Traditional Cache

in our disclaimer.
Easy terrain, room for a couple of cars to park, should be winter friendly.
Carrying Place is a very interesting spot that many of you have driven by countless times but may not know the history. I'll give a brief description now and then update it when I meet with the local historical society. The interesting part of the story is that many years ago, wishing to create a shortcut to float logs through on their way to sawmills, the residents of the Town of Hancock turned out with pick axes and shovels and literally hand-dug this waterway. Today kayakers put in here and clam diggers use this location to access nearby clam flats. This is privately owned property and the landowner (Merchant's) has graciously given permission for the cache placement. Please be respectful of this beautiful spot and practice CITO whenever possible. Enjoy this pretty spot with an interesting history!
