Geocache Description:

Come join us on Saturday, September 19 to help clean up Salisbury Beach. Salisbury Beach is one of the state`s most popular ocean beaches stretching for 3.8 miles along the Atlantic Ocean. The event will start at 9 am and will continue until noon, rain or shine.

Meet at the far end of the last parking lot at Salisbury Beach Reservation near the posted coordinates. Let the gate attendent know that you are part of the beach clean-up and you can park for free. There will be a raffle and a travel bug swap table set up so feel free to drop off travel bugs.

Plastic bags, inventory sheets and pencils will be provided. You may want to bring gloves to protect your hands along with a hat, bottled water, sun screen, and hand sanitizer. There are restrooms located in the parking lot near the event area.

If you want to visit and explore the area for the weekend, Salisbury Beach Reservation has a campground located within walking distance of the CITO location. Pets aren't allowed on the ocean-side beach but they are allowed on the Merrimac River side beach and they are allowed in the campground. This is also a great location for salt-water fishing from the shore or by boat. There is a boat ramp located next to the campground.

The Salisbury Beach CITO event was created to coincide with the Ocean Conservancy's national Coastal Cleanup day on September 19. This annual clean-up brings together hundreds of thousands of people around the world to work together to clean-up trash from beaches, lakes, and streams.
