Geocache Description:

NB: It has come to my attention that there are "NO Geocaching" signs in the Greenwood Hill cemetery. You are not looking there. GAR is not part of their cemetery. You will be looking in a public greenspace cemetery for this cache.

In 1882 fourteen Civil War veterans, calling themselves the Grand Army Cemetery Association, purchased land for their future internment. They named their resting place The Grand Army of the Republic Cemetery. Many Oregon military pioneers reside here. The oldest marker, that of Salmon Brown, son of John Brown, dates from 1889. John Millington, a member of the 16th NY cavalry regiment, one of 26 enlisted men who captured John Wilkes Boothe, and Hartwell B. Compson d.1905, a congressional medal of honor winner, also rest here.

This cemetery is owned by Portland Metro Regional Parks and Greenspaces. It is accessable through the Greenwood Hill cemetery road. The cemetery is open from sunrise to sunset, pets are not allowed. There are picnic tables nearby if you would like to bring a lunch.

You are looking for a small waterproof container, It is log only, so BYOP.

For the FTF is a glass blue moth
