Geocache Description:

semi easy ding and dash

You are looking for a Meneely Foundry West Troy NY bell cast in 1840. This bell hung above the St. Matthews church a couple of blocks down Vine St. closer to Liverpool. Back in 1941 the church had a major fire and they later moved to this new site. After several years the replacement chuch and the bells' new hanging place were dedicated in 1955. Note the electric driven bell "dinger' it is long rusted out and no longer in use. Bill Doylan is the caretaker here and states that the church is seeking a means to have the bell cleaned and rehung with a rope for children to use to ring the bell in the future. Rev. Carrie Schofield-Broadbent is just one of the regulars here waiting for you to come and ring my bell. When I find em I cache em.
