Geocache Description:

Short scramble from path. No room for trackables. Many thanks to Emmett101 for replacing this cache with a magnetic container. 😊Bring your own pen.

This is part of a series of 5 caches in the Maker area. The whole series can be done as a nice circular walk.

The area has lots of interesting military history dating back to the times of Napoleon. Driving around the area there are lots of obvious barracks etc but a few are not so obvious and a worth a look at. So we have placed 5 caches to some of them.

Tank is a disused WW2 oil tank that was intended to store oil in a "secret" location and a pipeline was run across to Devonport. However, it wasn't ever used!

Best parking is at Edcumbe Barrow Car Park. This is a pay and display car park. The entrance to the car park is opposite a path to the cache.

A good place to leave the path is at N50 21.054 W004 11.008
