Geocache Description:

A geocache hidden in the Hill-Stead Museum trail system

The Hill-Stead museum is a National Historic Landmark and includes a house with a spectacular art collection as well as grounds containing hiking trails and a scenic overlook. The trail system connects to the MMM Blue Blaze trail system maintained by the Connecticut Forest and Parks Association (see www.ctwoodlands.com). The geocache is a short hike from the parking area and does not bring you along the longer loop of the trail system. The trail can be wet, especially during the spring and summer months. The geocache is hidden in a project constructed by an Eagle Scout of Farmington Troop 68. The cache itself was hidden by Cub Scout Pack 68 as part of the 2009 Summertime Pack events. There is no charge to park at the Hill-Stead and hike on the trails, although there is a nominal charge to tour the house/museum (and well worth it). Please observe all rules, including hours of operation, and CITO.
