Geocache Description:

The cache is located in Chippokes State Park. There is a $4 entrance fee. This is a small traditional cache that should be a fairly easy find. In fact, it is a good training cache for children! Show them how to use the GPSr and then let them find the cache without your help.

To avoid damaging the lawn and creating a path leading to the cache, please skip this one if you are an experienced cacher.

Park in the parking lot for the Jones-Stewart Mansion at the far end of the Historic Area in Chippokes State Park.

Albert Carroll Jones built the present Mansion In 1854. It is said that it survived the Civil War because the plantation had orchards and a distillery and sold spirits to both armies.

The Mansion was bought by the V.W. Stewarts of Wilson, North Carolina in 1918 who moved in shortly after to begin the inventorying and restoration work. The Stewarts' Packard automobile is in a garage behind the Gift Shop -- not too far from the treasure.

The treasure is in the area around the Mansion.
