Geocache Description:

Micro cache located in cemetery. Easy terrain, should be safe from snow and falling leaves.

Harrison Township Cemetery was created by a land donation in the early 1800's. It increased in size in 1850 when additional acreage was donated by William Millar. This cemetery is a very quiet and peaceful one, with care given to the land and the headstones. The oldest stone in the cemetery marks the grave of Sarah Holms, who died in October, 1801, at the age of 2 years, 5 months. A stroll through the cemetery reveals the headstones of ancesters of local families as well as soldiers from the Civil War, WWI, and WWII. My ancesters came from this area and many are buried close by. In fact, you can see many of their headstones from the cache location. Please, no caching after dark and respect the area.
