Geocache Description:

A nice walk along a part of Burnaby Lake that most cachers have not visited.

This cache promotes active living and environmentally friendly geocaching.

This cache is easily accessable by Transit services and the trail system around Burnaby Lake. You can take Skytrain service to Sperling, and hike around the entire area. Note that the new Central Valley Greenway runs through Burnaby Lake Park, but you are asked to walk your bikes in the Burnaby Lake part of the Greenway. Please obey park signs in this regard. BC Transit does have the facility to carry you bike on its buses, or on Skytrain (off peak hours).


From Lake City Way Station:
  • On Piper walk/ride South into Burnaby Lake Park.
  • Check Park Maps near Lakeside, and head East towards cache.
From Sperling or Production Way Station:
  • Take 110 Bus along Government Street to Piper Ave or Near Government & Cariboo.
  • On Piper walk/ride South into Burnaby Lake Park.
  • Check Park Maps near Lakeside, and head East towards cache.
  • From Cariboo head over towards the 'dam' and make you way west along the lake towards the cache.

Choices choices. From the West, from the east? Initially the nondescript trail cut out from the bog around Burnaby Lake holds holds little to catch the eye. But then on to find the cache, and a big change in the foliage. Spruce and/or conifer? More choices. Check the park map and all will be clear.

In this cache, you'll find some ProjectBlueSky geocoins for the first finders. Please only take one... if you have one from another cache, please leave them for other people. There are also some other pins and swag from BC Parks, BCGA and Project Blue Sky.
