Geocache Description:

Due to illness I am unable to maintain this cache. If you can replace the log it would be very much appreciated. This memorial is on the old turnoff to the small town of Reserve, NM, It is now fenced off from the newer highway junction. The memorial plaque doesn't give much information about the route, so I'm guessing it was a popular route back in the day from Carlsbad Caverns in New Mexico to the Grand Canyon in Arizona. It certainly passed through some beautiful and interesting country! Can you imagine driving these roads 50 or more years ago? You are looking for an orange waterproof match box covered with cammo tape. It contains a log only so bring your own pen or pencil. Should be available any time of year, but snow may make it a bit harder to get to.
