Geocache Description:


This is the second stop along the way through part of the Allen Lake State Forest. Beginning at the Belfast Caneadea town line you will be on the State Snowmobile Trail C2C. This trail is accessible year round by foot, horseback, or snowmobile depending on the season. ATV use is prohibited.

The trail borders clearly posted private land on the right side of the trail. There is no reason to cross over the line all caches are on State Forest Land. As with all State Forest Land, Blaze Orange is recommended during hunting seasons.

The Snowmobile trail is actually on the old road that used to run through these woods to a farm that has been gone since about 1936. This is the spot that the road and the snowmobile trail split. If you walk a few yards past the cache in a Northerly direction, you can still see the old road by the lack of mature trees and the ruts in the soft soil.
