Geocache Description:

Another in the Church Micro series, at the Parish Church of Saint Catherine of Siena, Cocking.

The church was built in early Norman times, before 1100. It consisted originally of the nave and chancel replacing, it is believed, an earlier Saxon church.

One of the original Norman windows is to be seen high up on an arch on the south side. On one splay is an interesting painting, dating from about 1220, showing a fragment of the Christmas story. It would have been part of a sequence of paintings on the original wall of the nave.

To find the cache, find the answer to these questions; Question 1; At N 50 57.020 W 000 44.947 there is an interesting lime tree. How man trunks does it have? Answer = A

Question 2; At N 50 57.023 W 44.963 Sapper C Ryan is buried. What was his army number? Answer = BCDEFG

The cache can be found at N 50 56.(B + D)(A+B+F)(D - B) W 000 44.(B + G)(F + G)(D - E)

If anybody would like to expand this series please do, I would just ask that you could let sadexploration know first so he can keep track of the Church numbers and names to avoid duplication
