Hare's view can be found on a public footpath from the south of Formby heading towards the beach. You will need to bring a pen.
The cache was named Hare's view as this is a spot where I have often seen hares in the evening. The path is popular with dog walkers and runners.
On one side of the path is Altcar Rifle Range. The damp grassland here maintains short turf rich in orchids, and in a small area, many cowslips ( primula veris). The ranges now support the largest population of Green Winged orchids in the North West of England. Other orchids on the estate include Bee and Pyramidal Orchids, Dune Helleborine, Green flowered Helleborine, Marsh Helleborine and Common Twayblade.
